Ultrasound Accuracy?

I had an early ultrasound at 10w5d. The u/s said I was 10w3d. Now to me that is very accurate. I was high risk and was measured quite often by numerous doctors and u/s techs and my due date was never in question. I delivered my baby 2 1/2 weeks early and he was only 5lbs14oz. My question is…can these early ultrasounds be “off” by a month at that point(10 weeks? I ask this becasue there seems to be a question as to when I conceived. All my u/s’s, early and late put my date of conception the first week of December 2006. Is it really possible that I conceived the end of October 2006? I would’ve been 41 1/2 weeks pregnant when I delivered and i believe my baby would’ve been much bigger if I did conceive a month earlier than I thought. And wouldn’t all the professionals picked up on the fact if I indeed did conceive in Oct rather than December? Thank you for you answer.

Early u/s are usually very accurate (later ones, not so much).
Had you actually delivered at 41.5 weeks, the baby most likely would have been larger. Also, there are other signs we look for at birth to determine gestational age. It is usually obvious by assessment whether baby was early/late/just right.
